Phu Quoc is about fifty kilometres long, and the drive from the southern islands to the theme parks in the north takes around an hour. Where you sleep decides how much of your holiday you spend in a car.
Long Beach and Duong Dong are the most convenient all-round base. Ong Lang, just north of town, is quieter and more intimate. An Thoi, Sunset Town and the south put you next to the islands, the cable car and the white-sand beaches. Bai Dai and Ganh Dau in the north are for big resorts and for families spending days at VinWonders and the Safari.
Below you will find who each area suits, typical price bands, when to book and fourteen real properties from hostels to five-star resorts. Every link goes to Booking.com, where you can check live prices, room types and cancellation terms for your dates.

When to book
- Tet (late January or February): book several months ahead; prices and minimum stays go up.
- December to April: the dry high season — book a few weeks ahead for the best-value places.
- May to October: plenty of choice and lower prices; booking a few days ahead is usually enough, apart from Vietnamese summer holidays.
- Always: choose a free-cancellation rate if your plans depend on boat trips and the weather.
